We study allowing large language models (LLMs) to process arbitrarily long prompts through the lens of inference-time scaling. We propose Recursive Language Models (RLMs), a general inference strategy that treats long prompts as part of an external environment and allows the LLM to programmatically examine, decompose, and recursively call itself over snippets of the prompt. We find that RLMs successfully handle inputs up to two orders of magnitude beyond model context windows and, even for shorter prompts, dramatically outperform the quality of base LLMs and common long-context scaffolds across four diverse long-context tasks, while having comparable (or cheaper) cost per query.

sonnet 4.5 penso che abbia in pancia qualcosa del genere anche se non lo fa in automatico. mi è capitato più volte che quando la finestra di contesto diventava molto grande e non riusciva a rispondere mi proponesse di spezzare il task che gli stavo chiedendo.

(arieggiamo la stanza) ma ha senso avere delle scarpe da corsa differenziate per uomo e donna? e perché i colori di quelle da donna sono più belli?
Quando facevo sport un po' più seriamente (eoni fa) la mia squadra era di spilorc..ahem...diciamo che prendevano scarpe uguali per tutti perché i modelli a disposizione erano pochi,quelli da donna ancor meno. Le scarpe col numero giusto per la lunghezza erano enormi in larghezza, l'alternativa era di avere scarpe in cui il piede non ballasse ma con le dita arricciate...per fortuna poi la corsa si è diffusa e così i tipi di scarpe a disposizione di chiunque aumentati a dismisura,ma ormai avevo già smesso.

(per amanti del genere) vorrei leggere i contatori di luce, gas e acqua da remoto per poi mandare i dati ad home assistant. i nuovi contatori di luce e gas hanno interfaccia ottica mentre quello dell'acqua dovrebbe essere via radio. Qualche idea?
Da quando ho attivato l'impianto fotovoltaico, meno di due mesi fa, posso monitorare anche l'assorbimento di energia in casa e in effetti ho inaspettatamente notato che ho durante la notte un assorbimento costante di 400 W che non sono pochi, appena rientro dalle ferie butto fuori dalla finestra quel baraccone di PC di mio figlio
