When driving Sophie to school this morning Pharrell William's Happy was playing. Much to my surprise Sophie started to sing and dance in her car seat. She said they have been dancing to that song in class. School clearly is not what it was when I attended. :-)

Sophie ran up to me: "Daddy, Daddy, I found a bird egg!" Turns out to be a rock (that indeed resembles a small egg). She was disappointed for a second but then realized that she now has the perfect April Fool's joke for her kindergarten teacher. :)

Describing Livorno to foreigners in a single anecdote. Thirty years ago some kids from an artistic school sculpted 2 big stones in the shape of 2 feminine heads resembling the style of Amedeo Modigliani paintings and drowned the two artifacts in a canal. Then they called the press, the national television, the Ministry of Culture, to say they had probably found some lost Modigliani's artwork in the canal. For days to come the group of kids with the connivance of an entire neighborhood first, and most of the city after, succeeded in fooling the entire nation, the cultural establishment, the art critics.
