"Eliminati quindi i falsi dati BFO, tutto il resto portava a una semplice risposta: l’aereo era andato verso nord. Utilizzando solo i dati BTO, Wise ricostruì la rotta del volo MH370 e notò che percorreva le parti meno battute dei confini tra India, Pakistan e Cina. Volare nelle zone di confine è la miglior maniera per non essere notati dai radar, ma per atterrare un Boeing 777 ha bisogno di una lunga pista, quindi Wise cominciò ad analizzare la zona intorno all’ultimo segnale inviato al sistema satellitare, alla ricerca di un luogo in cui l’aereo avrebbe potuto compiere l’atterraggio. L’unico posto adatto a un’operazione del genere sarebbe stato il cosmodromo di Bajkonur, in Kazakistan. Bajkonur è la più vecchia base di lancio del mondo e pur trovandosi in territorio kazako è sotto il controllo dell’agenzia spaziale russa: da qui partirono il primo lancio riuscito di un satellite artificiale (lo Sputnik 1 nel 1957) e il primo lancio verso lo spazio con un uomo a bordo, quello di Yuri Gagarin nel 1961." - friendfeed from FriendFeed - -

Ricordiamo che la base di Bajkonur è tuttora in uso. L'edificio a cui fa riferimento è probabilmente l'hangar del Buran, crollato alcuni anni fa (sopra la navetta Buran 1 abbandonata, purtroppo) e in fase di demolizione. - signorn - -

Oltretutto il Tracer E-1 della Grumman era figlio del Grumman C-1 Trader, entrambi degli anni '50, contemporanei ai Cougar e ai Tiger, il gancio era più complesso e robusto perché l'aereo pesava di più - friendfeed from FriendFeed - -

Hanno spostato da mo'. Comunque un coso da 3-4 tonnellate senza carrello è molto ben gestibile, l'unica cosa che ti può fregare è l'elica che si pianta, ma a quelle velocità si disintegra subito. Dalle foto si vede un buffo graffio sulla pista, e faccio fatica a pensare che sia stato disperso carburante visto che le ali sono intatte e le linee non passano per il ventre. - friendfeed from FriendFeed - -
