"puntinare" (dotting) or "..." : the condition of having not enough words of disappointment to express blame on someone else's thread. In preventive apologetic form is also "Non puntinatemi.." "don't dot-dot-dot me for.." before writing something really awful.

"Il Molise non esiste" - "Molise does not exist" --- Molise is a small region between Puglie, Campania and Abruzzi, some of the major souther Italian regions.http://tinyurl.com/oo7yht... Due to its small size, and the the alleged irrelevance of the area by most of the italian internet, the joke about its inexistence started circulating during the blog Age previous to social media Era http://tinyurl.com/psjygl... and the joke is still popular...

it would be like if nowadays someone in the US suddenly decided to make a joke about the nonexistence of Connecticut, and all the social media platforms and communities in the surrounding states supported the same joke for years and years until the very first sense of the joke it is kinda missing. - bezdomnyj82 - - (Edit | Remove)

"bellachesssei" (literally "what-a-nice-gal-you-are") used ironically to comment any female user, more often by other female users, who is posting a selfie by any purpose but looking for attention, like showing a particular dress, a piece of furniture, a place, a participation to any kind of event. It's a satirical expression used to slightly imply that anyone is an attention seeker inside. The male corresponding variant does exist ("bellochesei") but is rarely used in that way.

We rather prefer using the same originally female form to address even male user "being" attention seeker. But it's never taken too seriously by anyone, it's a joke but also kinda a demonstration of affection, indeed. - bezdomnyj82 - - (Edit | Remove)

[by request] As you may guess OALD isn't an acronym for Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary but a distorted spelling for OLD to let it sound like an archaic "olde" or an almost barbaric YAWP over the rooftops of the interweb. Is used with the same purposes of screaming REPOST in the comments at forum or discussion boards. By commenting OALD to someone's post you are implying that your knowledge of the internet is deeper than its. http://i.imgur.com/SfG1WU... http://i.imgur.com/jvkB3s...

You are implying that its purpose to share anything considered new is instead such a beginner's effort and therefore you are a much more internet fine expert, declaring something is OLD even older than a couple of hours, that in the internet time is equivalent to two decades. - bezdomnyj82 from Android - - (Edit | Remove)

"Awanagana wazz amerigan boy..." is gibberish, doesn't actually mean anything. During the eighties, the period in which I mostly grew up, Italy was fascinated by American culture. Every single thing was tagged American to look cool, commercials often used gibberish English in jingles and slogan to appeal to youth. Tv shows had EngRish theme songs. [Edit] https://www.youtube.com/w... Using a notorious quote from the movie "Un americano a Roma" we somehow started mocking this habit.
1 decade ago from Android - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
[EDIT] More recently the odd English spoken by Italian politicians having speeches for communitarian events in Europe, or during travels in the U.S. was mocked as well with some gibberish sounds resembling Alberto Sordi's spoken english. - As mentioned before there is a strong rivalry between people from Rome and people from Milan: some kind of people in Milan area, especially yuppies or people working in Marketing, often use english words inside italian conversations to look cool, to make an impression. There is a joke about an entrepreneur in Milan trying to open a new "Salumeria" (a Delicatessen selling salami and ham) but asking a term loan for a "Start-up in the business area of luxury Salami and Jabon sliced". In this context, and in FF, "Awanagana" is used to mock this kind of people behavior and attitude, but also odd English construct of people pretending to know the English language. - bezdomnyj82 from Android - - (Edit | Remove)

"VENDO NOKIA 3310!!!" in caps-lock during a massive discussion, literally means "I'M SELLING A NOKIA 3310!" is used to express sarcasm about the size of the crowd gathered around the thread, and a lack of interest in the topic itself, or towards the epic size of the possible flame-war, acting like you are in the middle of an improvised street flea market taking advantage of the concentration of people to sell a ridiculously old and useless mobile phone http://i.imgur.com/J83GtO...

But often we are only interested in the fight itself, and do not care about the topic that is being fought over or even the outcome of the fight. It's a form of internet "rubbernecking". http://en.wikipedia.org/w... We usually don't care how the fight/accident happened or who caused it. We just want to see the blood, guts, and gore. (and the more, the better!) And there may be the popcorn/peanut vendors, the opportunists, taking advantage of the situation for their own personal gain, who are just as interested in the fight/accident as the rest of the rubberneckers, but for different reasons. You can hear them shouting "Popcorn, get your popcorn! $1 per bag!" So, in a flame war, when you go make popcorn, you are either intending to eat it yourself while watching the show, or you intend on selling it to the spectators. Same with the ticket vendors that sell tickets to a free event, in order to profit while making the crowd bigger. While they may have a self serving interest in the event and/or the size of the crowd, it is still an interest, even if it differs from the crowd. - April Russo - - (Edit | Remove)

"C'è un medico/avvocato/sistemista in sala?" ("Is there a medic/layer/sys analyst in the house?") Is a common phrase used when experiencing difficulties that could obviously be medical, legal or technical. Ex: "I discover a bulge under my armpit, is there a doctor in the house?" - common sense is that you should seek for real help instead of asking on the internet, but often you could find good advices on the old good days, or at least a sarcastic comment... http://i.imgur.com/pNUgcx...

"Bello 'X' ma non ci vivrei..." (where X stands for anything from a nice place, an object, an existential state) literally means "X is fine, but I can't see me living by/at/on it..." is a sort of catchphrase used often in context like those described in the tale of the "Fox and the Grape" http://i.imgur.com/bVbqMb... - more recently de-contextualized somehow and repeated in nonsensical ways, just for taking a shot to reach a comic effects by simple repetitions.

Quite at the beginning of time of the "socialino" the user G. (or G_____y) went mad at the community, because of some side effects of a flamewar, or probably some other reason lost in time, and rage-quitted her account and erased everything of it. Because lot of her real life friends and her boyfrend stayed on the social network despite her leave, and because she was lurking her fiancé's feed she suddenly created a profile for their cat, named C. P. G-----i (sounds like "C. P. Kitteh") written from the point of view of the cat. - bezdomnyj82 - - (Edit | Remove)

The "Birra in ghiacciaia" event. To explain this I'll surely need some help in recollecting names, because I couldn't find many concrete evidences of what happened, due to the fact that most of people involved, and maybe even the author of the original thread deleted and recreated their friendfeed accounts a couple of times, and some others vanished. As absurd it may sound, all the following really happened, and is now somehow lost.

On August 1st 2010 temperature was rising significantly on the Italian peninsula, a certain user (I can't remember if Zadigone or S., so please correct me if you know it) posted a thread saying "Potreste ricordarmi di togliere la birra dalla ghiacciaia fra qualche minuto?" ("Would you kindly remind me to take the beer out of the freezer in a few minutes?") - the absurdity of the request, the hot temperatures, the lack of any relevant news coming, or any occupation by most of the user connected at that time of the day, created an explosive combination of factors, that led to the "Birra in ghiacciaia" flooding event. - bezdomnyj82 from Android - - (Edit | Remove)
