My stomach ache has returned. Actually it has not left me, but comes and goes. I am hoping against hope that it is not diverticulitis that is being inflamed by my eating pecans, walnuts and pistachios. Given my current diet, these are some of the few things that give me joy. And I was going to just say "eating nuts," but I know y'all too well.

Just got home from Church. My church hosted a conference gathering of United Methodist Women - around 125 of them - from 9 am to 3:00 pm. Counting setup and cleanup it has been a full day already, but now I must work on my sermon for tomorrow. This shouldn't take too long . . . :^)

From Frederick Buechner (one of my favorite writers): I have just come back from about a ten-day stint of speaking in the state of Iowa, which was tremendous fun and exhausting. One of the most enjoyable parts of those events is the question and answer period after the readings and lectures are over.
