Autonomous sensory meridian response - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
"Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli. The nature and classification of the ASMR phenomenon is controversial. Tom Stafford, a professor at the University of Sheffield, says, "It might well be a real thing, but it's inherently difficult to research."[1]" - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)
While falling down a YouTube rabbit hole, I found some videos for this. While I find them a little strange, they are fascinating in their production especially with the focus on sound and having a very 3D soundscape. - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)

The wristwatch has been through several evolutions since it first became a popular fashion accessory more than a 100 years ago. From mechanical to electronic movements, analog to digital faces, the wristwatch has been reinvented several times over, but the basic design has endured for a century because of its elegance and usefulness ‘at a glance.’ Our vision for Moto 360 was to celebrate that history as we reimagined the wristwatch for the future - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)

Satirical Weather Forecast Pokes Fun at DC’s Weather [VIDEO] | InTheCapital - http://inthecapital.streetwise.co/2014...

"DC’s Weather Forecast:  Acid rain, acid snow, Russian dolls filled with storms, and maybe a couple of Northern Virginia volcanoes.  OK, so the District’s weather hasn’t been that crazy, but it does seem like Mother Nature has been rough on us recently.  I was happily wearing short sleeves on Saturday, while today I trudged through city streets covered in slush – though apparently things could get considerably worse." - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)

I wonder if it's wrong to not believe in a higher power because it's easier to keep track of the rules and also keeps my weekends open?
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
uhm... it's certainly an excuse. :) at least the weekends part. but honestly, the higher power kind of requires more than just "weekends", at least in my experience. And as far as rules, look up Micah 6:8 when you have a chance. Works for me. - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)

Cosmologists Finally Capture an Elusive Signal From the Beginning of Time - Wired Science - http://www.wired.com/wiredsc...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
"A team of scientists may have detected a twist in light from the early universe that could help explain how the universe began. Such a finding has been compared in significance to the detection of the Higgs boson at the LHC in 2012. What they detected is known as primordial B-mode polarization and is important for at least two reasons. It would be is the first detection of gravitational waves, which are predicted to exist under Einstein’s theory of relativity but have never before been seen. But the thing that has scientists really excited is that it could provide the first direct evidence for a theorized event called inflation that caused the universe to exponentially grow just a fraction of a fraction of a second after it was born." - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)

Good grief. I'm really get tired of Apple products not working with our website. We're testing a new chat room and the Java plug-in can't be used by some of our users because Apple won't let them use the latest version (7). Wait...they can use Safari and bypass all that silliness. Well...that's something at least.

Ugh. Why do they have to give these useless ISBNs for books for my classes? 9781613841518 apparently doesn't exist in the system. Certainly not at Amazon or any of the other textbook sites I looked at. Guess I'll be waiting for the syllabus for verification.

Brain During An Out Of Body Experience - Business Insider - http://www.businessinsider.com/brain-d...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
"It may sound like a plot from "The Twilight Zone," but a psychology graduate student at the University of Ottawa says she can voluntarily enter an out-of-body experience. This was a lucky break for scientists, who were able to scan her brain during the episode. Usually out-of-body experiences are a part of, say, a near-death experience. A patient may float above their own body as surgeons work on them. These experiences are usually attributed to the drugs in a patient's system, or the hormones released into their system by trauma." - CAJ - - (Edit | Remove)
