Desserts made from celebrity liposuction lard could be the next pastry fad if it weren't for pesky federal regulations.

My grandfather used a mechanical machine to keep his books. It had a crank on its side. You pushed the numbers buttons and an operator button and then you pulled the crank, hard. It updated MECHANICALLY a register with the result of the operation on those numbers - Clark Kent - - (Edit | Remove)

Where the Warriors fit in the messy, changing Bay Area - SBNation.com (http://www.sbnation.com/2... )

"If you want the soul of Oakland sports, get into an A's game on a cold night. […] Here be lunatics. In a good way. This lunacy has its roots in something from the East Bay called oh-fuck-you, and I've learned not to poke a stick at it. The oh-fuck-you is a powerful force, something teams would bottle and sell if they could." - Andrew C - - (Edit | Remove)

"This is the yin-and-yang of Bay Area sports, in which one side openly despises the other, and that other side pretends not to care or notice (even if they most certainly do). It's fun, it's annoying, it's sports, it's life. It's also the pool from which all Warriors fans are drawn. That weird team is the nexus of the two, the annoyed and the entitled, a mix that's spawned some of the best fans in sports, where everyone gets along and roots for a team like a bunch of fools, regardless of how good or bad that team might be." - Andrew C - - (Edit | Remove)

"But also George has an amazing idea of how the film should look. Technically, he asked us to center frame at all times. Whatever the point of interest was in every shot, whether a close-up or a wide shot, that had to be in the center of frame, so that as he cut it — and it's cut very fast, as you know; I think the average length of the shots in the movie is 2.3 seconds, George told me — he didn't want the audience to have to search for that point of interest. The cuts would occur and your eyes didn't have to move from one cut to the other. I found it fascinating." - Andrew C - - (Edit | Remove)

"Of course, it was alien to all of us. But he knew. Early he really knew what he was going to do with that image in post. It would end up something like 2.3 seconds long and he didn't want the eyes to shift. The color was corrected — for eight months there was a colorist on the film, grading the picture as it was edited. As digital effects finished their imaging they'd send it down to [look development and supervising colorist] Eric Whipp and he would color that in and cut it in and check the contrast color and exposure on it. Honestly, seeing AGE OF ULTRON in 3D was largely a waste of money; I rarely felt like the 3D added anything.

http://www.cinemablend.co... -- "Aside from some standout visuals, and trademark floating graphic interfaces, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron really doesn’t wow when it comes to the 3D conversion. If you have to see it in 3D, at least see it in IMAX 3D. The extra money spent on a Large Format presentation will compensate for the wasted 3D opportunity." - Andrew C - - (Edit | Remove)
