I hear people say "wintering" more often, but that's usually been folks I know who are retired and go to sunnier states in the coldest winter months. The hostel room I'm in has four beds and one available regular electrical outlet, plus two more near the sink and two in the bathroom. My favorite hostel in Seattle has custom wiring to provide two outlets per bed. Four if you unplug the two needed for the bed lamp and bed fan.
