Wondering what people are feeling these days about the LSW sites on Mokum.place, thelsw.org (the Discourse instance), Slack, Facebook, and frenf.it. Although Mokum.place has gathered a lot of attention and use in the past month, I still see regular activity in Slack and am wondering how people are deciding when to go where. At some point, we'll want to consider the Discourse install at thelsw.org, which has monthly server costs to keep alive. I'll cross-post this question in all the locations.

Inspired by Chris Zammarelli's last blog post about using Slack at work, I decided to create a space for the LSW on Slack just so I could learn how to use it. Join me if you're interested.

It's been close to a month since thelsw.org site has been revived with a new platform (Discourse). The other LSW locations at Frenf.it and on Facebook as well as thelsw.org site have all been seeing varying levels of activity. I think I'm seeing a trend that may be useful to us as we figure out this diaspora thing (no, not the forgotten social network...I mean our situation). It seems like the FB page and Frenf.it group have water cooler conversations and thelsw.org site has...

...conference lobby conversations. Does that seem accurate? If so, what do we make of it? [cross posted on all LSW venues] - Stephen Francoeur - - (Edit | Remove)

I read "codeswitch" in ellbeecee's comment as "codswitch." It felt so right. - Katy_S - - (Edit | Remove)

hey Stephen - I'd love to try out the site, but I've tried 3 times now (the first 2 a couple of days ago) to get it to send me the email verification link (so I can register / start logging in) and have yet to receive the email. Any chance there's a stuck email-sending queue? - Marianne - - (Edit | Remove)
I got it okay yesterday, no problems. I presume you've checked the usual junk mail folders? - deborahfitchett - - (Edit | Remove)
