Taking inspiration from roots music and Southern tales of the supernatural, the Pine Hill Haints play a self-described style of "Alabama ghost country" that touches upon honky tonk, rockabilly, folk, and bluegrass. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

It's pretty much accepted that most of the "free" services you can get online are financed in some way with your personal information. That usually means the site is using the information it learns about you to target you with ads or sell your information to other advertisers. Now even some of the services you actually pay for are taking this approach to make more money. Recognizing that not everyone wants their online habits available to the highest bidder, AT&T's GigaPower fiber Internet offers customers the option to not sell your searches and browsing history to advertisers. But here's the catch: AT&T charges an extra $29 more each month to protect your privacy. And even smartphones aren't safe from tracking. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

To turn off the new Google "AdID" system you don’t go to your Android phone settings, but your Google Settings app. You might have to look under your full list of apps to find it. Tap the Ads link and then check "Opt out of interest-based ads." You can also see your advertising ID and tap "Reset advertising ID" to make a new one. This will make you look like a new user to advertisers. Ads aren't the only way you're tracked on your phone. Google and Apple might be tracking your searches - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Wayne Barrett: What Rudy Giuliani knows about love - NY Daily News - http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion...

Ask Regina Peruggi, the second cousin he grew up with and married, who was "offended" when Rudy later engineered an annulment from the priest who was his best man on the grounds, strangely enough, that she was his cousin. Or ask Donna Hanover, the mother of his two children, who found out he wanted a separation when he left Gracie Mansion one morning and announced it at a televised press conference. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Giuliani went so far as to rebuke the President for not being "brought up the way you were and the way I was brought up through love of this country," a bow no doubt to the parenting prowess of Harold Giuliani, who did time in Sing Sing for holding up a Harlem milkman and was the bat-wielding enforcer for the loan-sharking operation run out of a Brooklyn bar owned by Rudy's uncle. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Universal Deamonization is the Future of the Internet and the Internet of Things - https://danielmiessler.com/blog...

Summary Humans and objects will broadcast daemons around them, advertising their attributes and interaction capabilities The daemons will sit on a TCP/IP, HTTP, and REST Web Services stack Intention Brokers will interact with surrounding daemons on the behalf of their human/object owners All interactions, whether automated or manual, will leverage a federated identity infrastructure that determines who can do what to various objects This interaction will enable ubiquitous and continuous customization of environments, perfectly targeted advertising, and hyper-magnification of socio-economic capabilities between individuals and groups - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Irish Music Masters Altan Confirms New Album - http://compassrecords.com/news...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
After nearly 35 years together—the longest running Irish music band with every founding member in tact—Altan were ready to flex their musical boundaries when they began work on their newest album, The Widening Gyre. Adding new band member Martin Tourish on accordion and with the help of many good friends in the studio, Altan’s new album fuses the traditional Irish music that they are known for, namely Donegal fiddling and Gaelic singing traditions, with American roots music, particularly that of the Appalachian bluegrass fiddle. Recording in Nashville for only the second time and the first time for a full album, the band was able to gather many of the roots musicians they’ve met over their thirty years together including Sam Bush, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jerry Douglas, Tim O’Brien, Eddi Reader, Bryan Sutton, and Compass co-founder Alison Brown. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)
