“People don’t want to talk with you, people don’t want to be seen with you. Donors certainly don’t want to give you money because you have this cloud hanging over your head,” Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said this weekend. “I’m sure Rick Perry has a lot of friends and donors to keep him going, but I also know — little or big — it’s having an effect on his presidential race.” - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Must be the season of the .... Chocolate Stout

To celebrate the 106th birthday of the “Little Brewery” in Shiner, we crafted this special limited-edition brew that’s a sweet treat for all. Brewed with chocolate malt and real cocoa, this year’s Shiner Birthday Beer is a delicious out with a soft creamy head, chocolate aroma and taste and a slightly sweet finish. Drink this beer that’s as rich as Shiner’s heritage while it lasts- once it’s gone, you’ll have to wait until next year for another birthday surprise. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Sneak Peek: A Musical Legacy Restored | Garden and Gun - http://gardenandgun.com/blog...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
Nearly fifty years ago, six musicians posed on the front porch of a regal but dilapidated antebellum mansion in Macon, Georgia. Vines crept over the porch and paint peeled from the white columns. But the resulting image was a stunner, and those musicians—the Allman Brothers Band—used it as the cover of their 1969 self-titled debut album. Now, thanks to a nearly complete renovation, the Bell House is ready to lay the foundation for a different kind of Southern music. - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)

Eric Skye's Fiddle Tune Collection - Minus - http://minus.com/m-erics...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
"This collection reflects my personal favorites (and one of my own tunes), but also very deliberately contains what I think are many of the frequent flyers of this style that any player interested in flatpicking fiddle tunes should know. I went to quite a bit of effort over the years to source and arrange them so that they are in the most common keys (though many use a capo), using what I think are the commonly accepted chord changes, and with the melodies written in a way that they are relatively unadorned or stylized, so that you can most easily use them in jams, and hopfully make your own. Most are thirty-two bar AABB forms. So play each eight bar section twice. A handful are shorter, and some don’t have repeated sections and are therefore written in eight lines to be played from top to bottom. A few might be across two pages, in which case they are numbered in the description as, for example; “Beaumont Rag 1” and “Beaumont Rag 2.” Sometimes there are pickups for first and second endings written in parenthesis. It should be pretty intuitive as to which one to use." - GuitarBuster - - (Edit | Remove)
