Just to let you know, I received "exceeds expectations" on all five Marks of Effective Clergy from the District Superintendent, my immediate supervisor. And though it is great to be thus evaluated at the highest level. I have my doubts about the five Marks they use. Here they are:

WHen I ran the troubleshooter yesterday after my internet stopped working on my laptop, this is what it said (See pic). I have tried reinstalling intel proset wireless software, updating it, and rolling back windows updates (since I think they are what caused the problem - It also affected my touchpad). I still have to physically use the F8 key
Well, I got everything ready for it, but then I spent a couple of hours fooling with stuff and discovered that Toshiba computers have something called flash cards that control things like wireless, brightness, touchpad, etc. I went into msconfig, turned it off in the startup (as well as a crapload of other software, and everything is working now and the computer is booting up much faster as well. I still may do a factory reset later if I need to, especially since I have everything needed to so.

Cleaned the car, got the dog three shots, prepaid for six days of boarding beginning next Monday (8th) when I head to Ohio for my annual Spiritual Retreat. I'll also visit my family briefly before returning the following Tuesday (16th). Now to clean the house and get receipts ready for a professional expense reimbursal.

Okay, so far, so good. At least I think so. I about 2/3rds finished after only an hour. I would appreciate it if some of you could read what I have written so far and let me know what you think. Much of what I have written is about my own calling to ministry, so if you want to know a little more about yours truly, take a gander at the pdf below
The rest of the sermon will deal with what it means to be sent, and especially what it means to travel light when we go (as referred to in Mark 6:1-13: "Then Jesus went about among the villages teaching. He called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. He ordered them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; but to wear sandals and not to put on two tunics."

Writing my sermon . . . finally. I am hoping it will be an easy process tonight as I have had a long and not all that good of a day so far.
Crazy. You're the 4th person in the past month who has posted a photo of this plant. All of you live in different parts of the world and I still don't know what it is!

Given the ruling by SCOTUS today, I cannot imagine that this court will move in any progressive way on the issues of same-sex marriage and LBGT rights. Today is another sad day in American history. I am all but sure that tomorrow will be the same.
